About Me

What can I say about myself?  I am married to my husband Marty for over 17 years now.  We live in Orange County, New York.  It used to be considered "upstate" but with the influx of so many people from the city, it's basically become a suburb.  Of course, if you have ever heard of the popular Discovery channel series, American Chopper, then you already know about Orange County, New York.  Orange County Choppers is located in Rock Tavern, about 15 minutes from me.  Nice to finally put Orange County, NEW YORK on the map.  I was getting tired of people thinking I was from New Jersey or California! Not that they are bad places, but, well you know!  It could be worse I suppose.  I could live in Florida, New York! LOL  But I digress...

During the week I work in New York City in the legal field.  I've been in this industry for quite a few years now.  I also have a small part-time business selling domain names and space on the web through my business, Domain-Hostess.com.  Occasionally, I still prepare websites for businesses on a by-request basis.  A sample of my work can be found at Amelia Acres Farm.  This also happens to be where my horse, Slim, has resided since I adopted him from the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation 3 years ago.

On the weekends and in the evenings, I love to spend time riding my horse, Slim (that's him in the photo with me in case you were wondering).  Other hobbies include, movies, music (mostly rock and alternative, but I'll listen to most anything), theater (nothing like a live performance - you get to catch their mistakes!), traveling and high tech stuff.  Photography is another large hobby of mine and which you will quickly discover as I add more and more photos to my new photo album, as well as my current album on Webshots.com.  In the last few months I have found a new interest which is playing the popular online game, The Matrix Online

I started a personal website back in October, 1996, when a little known company called GeoCities.com was born.  Back then, they were not owned by Yahoo.  In fact, all the web space was free!  Not like today where you have to pay to get better features.  That first site was created using Netscape 3.0 and the basic Notepad in Windows95.  I kept my home on GeoCities, even after the sell out to Yahoo.  It's gone through many changes - at least on the main pages, but many of the older pages have had little touching over the years.  I knew for a long time that I needed an overhaul, but with Slim and my job in the city, I just didn't have the time.  In late May, 2005, I was abruptly granted this time, when I fractured my foot in the subway while going to work.  So while being laid up, I decided to take the opportunity to make some changes, this included a fresh domain name and server which, of course, I set up through Domain-Hostess.com and change in the overall look.  The biggest change of all is the lack of commercials and pop-ups that you saw on the old pages.

Well I can't think of anything else to write for now, but I am sure I will think of more things to add.  In the meantime, please feel free to visit my new FORUM and post your thoughts and ideas about my new site versus the old.
